Acupuncture has been used as a therapy for the treatment and prevention of pain for thousands of years. Acupuncture can be used as a standalone therapy or in combination with other treatments to help improve your health and well-being. This holistic therapy aims to promote your body’s own healing.
Our team of qualified and registered acupuncturists work to provide you with the best care possible. During your consultation at our acupuncture clinic in Walsall, a practitioner will chat with you about your medical history and try to identify the causes of your pain or any imbalances.
What is Acupuncture?
The basic theory behind acupuncture is that the body has an energy force (qi) that runs through a system of channels under the skin. When this flow of energy becomes obstructed or unbalanced, illness occurs. By inserting very fine needles into the skin at specific points to stimulate the nerve impulses, acupuncture can restore the body’s balance and illness can be successfully treated. Conditions that can benefit from acupuncture treatment include:
Chronic Fatigue or Tiredness
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Traditional or classical acupuncture involves the use of very fine needles placed at specific points on the body. Although some patients may feel a slight ‘tingling’ or a dull heaviness, for most patients the treatment is typically painless. Feelings of deep relaxation or being energised occur during and after the treatment.
